Chiral Data is a software and consulting company that primarily develops technical software. Examples of application areas, we helped to develop programs for time-series analysis, image analysis, Monte Carlo simulation and combinatorial optimization. We also develop hardware drivers and gates code between different operating systems (different UNIX flavors, Linux and NT).

Services

Technical programming

We have a thorough knowledge of many things related to programming and Unix/Linux. Together with our background in theoretical physics this gives us a unique competence to solve various technical problems. We have programmed many things – from microwaves to online slots.

If you need a partner or consultants for development of software don’t hesitate to contact us. A look at some of our customers may provide insight into what we do. We have carried out porting projects of applications between different operating systems. Using Datafocus’ NuTCracker and GNU/Open Source software in the transition from Unix to Windows NT gives access to very powerful tools.

Translations

Our translator Ivet Zapadlik has worked as a free-lance translator since 1996. If you need translations from English into Swedish don’t hesitate to contact us. Please look at a list of some previous translation projects.

The Chiral Data Bookstore

-an Associate of the bookstore Amazon.com
We share our opinions on books in the Chiral Data Bookstore. Most books are about computer related issues and they are of course for sale.

Hardware.

As resellers for Vice Computer and JKS-Data, Chiral Data also has a possibility to provide hardware for our clients
We sell (PC) computers preinstalled with one or more operating systems. Available operating systems are different Linux/GNU distributions (such as RedHat, Debian), or Microsoft’s Windows 98/NT. You can also choose to install a box with multiple operating systems, i.e. Linux/GNU can coexist with Windows NT on the same hard drive.

Miscellaneous information.

On this page you will find information we want to share. Some of the information has been written and compiled by us, while some information consists of links to other interesting sites.

After a career as a software developer of administrative applications at the Swedish National Police Board in Stockholm, I commenced my academic career by studying mathematics and physics. In May 1996 I acquired my Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Lund University, Sweden. The thesis treats elementary particle physics, specializing in computer simulation and modeling of physical processes experimentally studied at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. After graduation I, together with Markus, launched Chiral Data and continued research within the Complex Systems Division at Theoretical Physics. This research has been discontinued and included combinatorial optimization of communication systems, e.g. Internet routing, and 3 dimensional modeling of proteins.

Jari has been active within BioBridge Computing as a co-founder of the company in September 2000. However, since February 1, 2002, Jari has returned to Chiral Data.

A list of my academic publications are available at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Lund University.

I graduated in Engineering Physics at Lund Institute of Technology in September 1994. As an undergraduate in 1993 I worked in a software project at CERN, Switzerland, to optimize the design of a particle detector. I defended my Ph.D. thesis in November 1998 at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Lund University. My thesis contains results from computer modeling of elementary particle processes, specializing in many particle production. During my graduate studies I participated in the launch of Chiral Data.

Markus Ringnér has moved on to become a researcher within National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health in the US.

A compilation of my academic publications are available at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Lund University.

After graduating in physics, astronomy och mathematics I commenced with graduate studies in atomic spectroscopy at Lund University resulting in a degree of licentiate. I continued at Lund University studying English and have after that worked as a free-lance translator of amongst other things software and manuals.
